Now, my opinion of this book might be a little biased since Head First books is one of my favorite book series. This introductory book is more than just introductory. It is a good size book that starts from printing all the way to producing well established programs for sell using the programming language, you guessed it, Java! There is two version, the newest one goes over Tiger. The book gets you involved instead of most teaching books that just gives you the stuff, maybe problems, but this book (and other Head First books) get you involved, and shows you how to think and solve the problems. If you are interested in learning Java, or programming in general, OR you just want a refresher on your Java skills, this book is a must read!

NOTE: this book does not cover everything in detail, but instead almost everything, and what it does not cover it has a list of in the back, of 10 things that did not make it, sadly enum was one of the things that did not make it, but they gave some good things in the 10 things it did cover.
